NWA Engagement Photos — Tanyard Creek, Bella Vista

Caitlin and Jason’s wintery engagement session in Northwest Arkansas

On a cold (and very early) January morning, I made the trip from Fayetteville to Bella Vista to capture Caitlin and Jason’s engagement photos at Tanyard Creek. In our discussion, Caitlin had mentioned that she wanted her engagement and invitation images to be taken in a snowy scenery. What they also talked about was that photography was the most important part of their wedding. After all is said and done, what is left but pictures.

I put on my hiking boots, wool socks and wool sweater. Ready to beat the cold. We really could not have gotten a better day. It snowed all day in Northwest Arkansas the day before — and we were the first to arrive the following morning and had the landscape all to ourselves. We explored the trails, danced by the creek and waterfalls, and ended up covered in snow.

I truly cannot wait to capture the glow between these two again on their wedding day in September.

And on a side note… I really did not expect this frost and snow here in Arkansas, we just celebrated my son’s first birthday in December in 65 degrees and sun! But I actually appreciate it, it reminds me a little bit of home.

Engagement photos are a really great way to build trust and a relationship with your photographer so that your wedding day goes smoother and you’ll know what to expect from your wedding photographer.
